How Do I?

Matthew 28:19-20 King James Version (KJV)

19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:  20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

I'm sure you remember this verse well.

Now tell me, what does this going into all the world look like at this time of quarantine?    How do I show compassion now?  How do I help my neighbor now?  How do I share my faith with those around me?  How do I teach others God's Word?  How do I proclaim God's name in a world that is hiding out.

Hopefully, you've figured this out for yourself a bit.  This is NOT a time to put your Christianity aside resorting back to old vices or becoming worldly.  You were pulled out of the world when you became a Christian.  You were 'set apart' which is the definition of sanctified.  You are no longer to revert to previous bad habits but to live a life worthy of God's live a life on the path to holiness.

So, what can I do or how do I represent God in this quarantine time?

1.  Do you have a pen, paper or a card and a stamp?
Send cards to those who are elderly in your family or church.

2.  If you have an Amazon account, send a care package.

3.  Have neighbors?
Rake their yards, pull weeds, sweep sidewalks, powerwash their siding, plant flowers, mulch the flower bed.

4.  Share your favorite Scripture on social media.  Begin online discussions why your Christian faith matters and what difference it has made in your life.

5.  If you have children, go out in nature and get creative.  Make leaf impressions, paint rocks, nature weaving out of yarn and twigs, flower fairies or foilage faces.  The options are limitless.  Also, you do NOT have to be a kid to enjoy these nature get creative items!

6.  Also with children, pick a Bible person a week and focus all projects and activities on that Bible person.  So for instance, if you pick, can act out the crossing of the red sea, talk about the power of God, share of Moses' family, talk about being a good leader or how Moses was placed in a basket as a baby.  Your craft project could involve water and waves and basket weaving.  Memorize a verse or 2 that the children can cherish for their lifetime.

7.  Make a phone call, email, text, social media....Whatever it takes, reach out while keeping safe.

8.  Most importantly, pray.  Prayer stretches beyond the room we are in and straight to God.  He hears our prayers.  He knows the hurts.  The fears.  Trust God in all times . . . even in this time of quarantine.

Just a few thoughts to share with you.  Just because we are quarantined, does not mean we can't share our faith and grow in our faith.  Accept this time as a spiritual growth period; A time set apart where you were strengthened in your faith and God truly spoke to your heart as you found new ways to share God's love for His people.

Philippians 4:19 King James Version (KJV)

19 But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
